Conditions Report: Silent Is Back!
It’s been blue skies up high and and cooler temperatures down low for the past week, which means our trails have had some time to firm up and smooth out. The forecast is for some more snow so that means the riding is only going to get better here in Golden.

BCA Beacon Basin
The BCA Beacon Basin is back in the snow near the Quartz Cabin. This is a great place to practise your searching skills that will keep your friends safe if you get swept away. Avalanches aren’t fun but being ready can be!

Beacon Basin is installed for 2019 season in Quartz.

Travel on Logging Roads
Please observe proper safety on the logging roads. Radio channel in Silent is RR3
*Please note: GSC grooming operations are responsive to WorkSafe BC protocols for avalanche safety and working alone. This means the GSC grooming operations are under the direction of a professional avalanche forecaster, who, at times, applies limits to the terrain that the groomer can pass through and this may affect the grooming product. Please adjust your expectations accordingly. *
Quartz Creek
Great coverage.
PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE PARKS! Please don’t sled past a sign and in to the National Park. We got called this week from Parks Canada and they are going to up their enforcement in the area.

Silent Pass
Groomer is back up and running and we’re going to give Silent some serious love this week to get it flat and keep it flat.
Logging operations are ongoing this year, currently up a spur off the north fork at 21 km. Expect to encounter industrial vehicles the entire way to the parking lot at 24 km. Please review our road safety video and drive with care.
