East Quartz is another great riding area near Quartz Creek. This trail is a left fork, shortly before you reach the Quartz Creek Cabin. The trail takes you into some beautiful alpine bowls for shredding but also crosses some active avalanche paths. Please check the Avalanche forecast for South Columbia and the Purcells before heading out to this zone.

Grooming for East Quartz will be as needed, likely 1-2 times per week. Please check our weekly grooming reports for more details.

Quartz Creek staging area is the parking for East Quartz. Quartz is located metres off Highway 1, 40 km west of Golden. Quartz parking area has three large lots. Trucks with decks can park closer to the kiosk (turn right when arriving). Truck with trailers have to park in the two lots to the left of the main entrance. There is a one-way traffic flow through this area – turn left just before the kiosk and then left again to enter the upper parking lot. You can exit by descending to the lower lot then turning right to get back toward the highway.
East Quartz is located conveniently close to Quartz Creek Cabin (6 km by trail).
