Conditions Report: A Dusting this Week, But Still So Good!
Hope everyone enjoyed the warmer week because we’re headed into another one. Temperatures look to be staying mainly in the single digits giving us a reminder of what’s coming in the springtime! We have an awesome base out there with some fresh on top, making for some fun riding still.
Quartz Update: We are back parking in the main lot! Things will remain slightly different, but we are happy to have space on our side again! There is still logging happening at the 4k, so please use the side “bench” trail for the first few kms of road. Gate Attendants will be staging sledders at the kiosk and permitting travel every 20 minutes to allow logging trucks to come down the road.
From the 4k, you will find a groomed trail! Have fun out there!

The Ladies Ruled the Weekend!
The ladies took over Quartz this weekend with Stay Wild Backcountry Skills running a clinic on Saturday followed by She Shreds on Sunday. It’s always so good to see that ratio evening out. Nice work out there ladies! And if you’re a lady looking to advance your skills, check out both of these female run companies.

SNOW AND WEATHER
Looks like we are going to have a fairly mild week for Mid January, and it looks like we might see some sun this weekend. Some snow is forecasted for Thursday so keep your fingers crossed it’s more than what the forecast is calling for!
Avalanche
We are seeing some wind transport and loading happening, so be aware of reactive wind slabs and be sure to check the forecast here each day for accurate up to date information as the situation continues to change, day by day!
There was a MIN report in the Silent Pass area from Tuesday that some ski touring/sled folks posted, so keep your heads up out there. Read the details here.
Grooming & Quartz!
When it comes to grooming, be sure to check social media for updates and always watch the Garmin grooming map (scroll down to see grooming in REAL TIME!). We plan to groom as often as is necessary, based on usage of the trails
We are very happy that parking at Quartz is back to the main lot. There is still logging happening at the 4km so we ask everyone remain on the “bench” trail beside the road until the 4km mark at which point the trail goes back to “normal” groomed conditions.
Thanks so much for your patience during the logging at the 9k, it was a real ride for all of us!
Trail Area Conditions Reports
Quartz Creek
There is still active logging at Quartz creek at the 4km marker. There is a side “bench” trail that is meant to be travelled on. Please stay off the FSR as it is illegal to travel on it. This is for the safety of everyone. Travel slow and pay attention.
Check in at the Quartz gate for the most up to date info.

- Once the line is visible, press on the line to see the date & time the groomer was last in action.
This map only shows the most recent groom. You can inquire at any of our trailheads for additional grooming information, including number of riders since the last groom.
