Conditions Report: Feb 12 – Pretty Ok
Snowmobile conditions in Golden are better than you might think. There hasn’t been a ‘big’ dump recently but a few cms here and there has added up to some pretty decent coverage out there. And as you may know, there is a great base this year so all the new stuff is straight bonus. There’s a little bit of snow again in the forecast and avalanche conditions look to remain moderate. Grooming is working in all 3 areas and the cooler valley temps will help keep the trails smooth.

Snow & Weather
SNOW AND WEATHER
Golden has received anywhere from 8 to 25 cms this past week and you can see the variations of depth depending on what valley you go into. It does seem like the latest storms tracked a bit south. There’s approximately 10 cms in the forecast and alpine temps look to remain in the negative numbers so that should preserve the snow.

“Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Isolated pockets of wind-affected snow linger over a weak layer. Watch for dense, stiff slabs in steep lee terrain features.” – Avalanche.ca

Silent has had really good riding this past week. There’s more snow here than in Quartz.
