Snowmobiling in Golden is a great way to bring in 2016. With clear skies and cold air in the forecast, this week promises the chance for outstanding views and good visibility for exploring. There’s been approximately 10cms of snow in the past 7 days with over 400cms of total snowfall year to date. The good news with cold weather is that the groomed trails are in great shape.

Grooming and Fee Schedule
Cold temps mean that the groomed trails stay in good condition for longer.
The grooming and fee collection schedule is as follows:
Quartz Creek
Grooms scheduled: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (evenings).
Fees: Everyday ($25/rider)
Gorman Lake
Grooms Thursday, Saturday (evenings).
Fees: Thursday-Monday ($25/rider)
Silent Pass
Grooms Thursday (morning)
Fees: Friday, Saturday, Sunday ($25/rider)

Firewood for the Quartz
Firewood for the Quartz cabin is underneath and accessible from the north-west side of the building; please use it sparingly in the woodstove inside; please no outdoor bonfires. The chopping block and axe are on the deck and the hatchet for kindling is inside the cabin; please use the chopping blog and refrain from splitting wood on the decking. If the garbage cans are full let Norm in the booth know and we will address it immediately.
Gorman Lake Parking
The upper parking lot at 14km for Gorman has been plowed with lots of room to handle enclosed trailers and the road is in great shape. The road is a bit narrow at spots getting up there so drive cautiously. We have plans to move back down to the 4km as soon as it snows (logging operations are now over on the road).
Westbench Trail
The Westbench Trail is groomed from Gorman to Wiseman corner (with a drag groomer) and the road is in from Wiseman corner to Quartz. Enjoy our beautiful trail ride with no avalanche hazards.

Registered Sleds
