Conditions Report: White Christmas

Santa is on his way and it looks like all the nice sledders are going to get their snowy wish. We’ve had 20-30 cms of new snow this week and there’s another 47cms of white fluff in the forecast. Things are stacking up nicely in the zones and we’re bracing for a solid swell here through the weekend. It seems like pinning it to Golden for the weekend with your buddies is the move to make, before you get locked down with family.

The snow has taken its time to show up in Golden this week and we’ve had some high alpine winds. Things are still pretty good though.

Ho Ho Holy Cow it's snowing!

Please check out avalanche bulletins (https://www.avalanche.ca/map/forecasts/purcells) each time you go.

If you can ride in the mountains you’re probably travelling in avalanche terrain. Please be careful and submit what you see to the MIN Network.

GREAT DEAL!

Prestige Inn has a sledder rate – good all winter.  20% off per night when you book with the code SLED online or call 250-344-7990 and tell them you’re a sledder to get the sled rate.

PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE PARKS! Don’t sled past a sign and in to the National Park. This seriously impacts our relationship with the Park and our ability to keep areas open and open new areas. We don’t have caribou in Golden, but we are not immune from closures.
