New Areas Ready For Snow!

While we’re always stoked to see early snow in September and October it was bit more nerve wracking this fall as we rushed to complete trail work in our new areas before things really froze up for the winter. Thankfully the late-October thaw allowed us to button down the project on November 8 and we can now say we’re ready for winter in all senses of the phrase.

Earlier this year the Golden Snowmobile received confirmation of $60,000 in funding and governmental approval to open a new riding area, Old Man, improve the West Bench Trail (that accesses Old Man from our Quartz staging area) and do some small trail improvements on our Quartz Creek trail to make early season grooming easier.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of Columbia Basin Trust, the Town of Golden and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, Area A (CSRD Area A).

The project was completed with hard work and heavy equipment of Ryker Group and Flat Bear Mining, and the brains of the Canadian Avalanche Association and Snow-Knowledge.

Thanks to everybody who was involved and we’re looking to appreciating the amazing work that got done with you guys this winter!
