Sledding conditions have been really good in Golden lately. We’ve been getting a small but constant set of nightly snowfalls and the temperatures are a lot more reasonable. There’s a lot of powder if you can get into a stash where others haven’t been. Temps look good going forward and there’s more snow in the forecast. Seems like sledding in Golden is the right thing to do this weekend.   ... [read more]

More new snow and less cold is the music we will throttle to this weekend in Golden BC. Yes it’s going to be warmer and yes it is going to snow again. There’s 20 cms in the forecast by Sunday and the temps could be in the single (minus) digits. If it’s colder where you are then it might be time to pin it to the interior!   ... [read more]

Christmas came early for sledders in Golden BC. We’ve had approximately a metre of new snow in the last week and then it went bluebird! Avalanche conditions have been high so good terrain choices have been a must. This week coming up should be pretty great sledding. There’s not a lot of new snow in the forecast, but we don’t need it! There’s tons out there right now and it’s a really great time to go sledding. See ya soon.   ... [read more]

Ho Ho Holy Cow it's snowing!
Santa is on his way and it looks like all the nice sledders are going to get their snowy wish. We’ve had 20-30 cms of new snow this week and there’s another 47cms of white fluff in the forecast. Things are stacking up nicely in the zones and we’re bracing for a solid swell here through the weekend. It seems like pinning it to Golden for the weekend with your buddies is the move to make, before you get locked down with family.   ... The sledding around Golden has been firing lately. We’ve been treated to some great snow and the early season conditions have been blanketed by consecutive power dumps. The good news is that there is still lots left out there and the snow has set up to make for good travel conditions. It’s going to get colder this weekend so back an extra balaclava because the snow might hit you in the face!   ... [read more]

We’re calling it ‘good early season’ conditions now in Golden and to be honest, that’s a sandbag. We’ve had anywhere from 15-35cm of new snow in the past week and there’s another 30cm in the forecast. Things are pretty good now and it’s becoming a lot reasonable to dangle in the fresh pockets since Tuesday night’s dumpage. Zip up your collar cause the white stuff is flying…game on! ... [read more]

We’re happy to report this week that all 3 of our gates: Gorman, Quartz and Silent Pass will be open this weekend in what we’re calling a preview weekend. Prices at the gates will be full at Quartz, reduced at Silent and free at Gorman. Gate staff will be happy to sell you a season membership at every gate. We had a decent dump early in the week with 20-40cms falling. That’s patched some dips and covered a few more rocks but it’s still early season and hazards prevail. *Updated Friday, November 29* ...
