Getting it good in Quartz. Aaron B.
The winter that keeps on giving is still in full effect. We have enjoyed 2 resets of powder in the past week and there is 5-10cms still expected before the weekend. Conditions are amazing out in Golden BC right now and you should definitely come check it out. If you do, don’t forget your balaclava and puffy jacket because temps are still cold in the alpine. The cold temps are great because it keeps our trails in good condition and preserves the powder! See you soon.   ... [read more]

Aaron B is a Hopeful kinda guy. Feb 3, 2020 by TGFG
It’s a great time to snowmobile in Golden right now. We’re having an above normal snowfall year and we’ve been blessed with storm after storm after storm. This week there is ‘only’ 17cms forecasted and temps are remaining cool. Last week, was a real doozy, as it deposited over 50cm of new snow but it also had wild winds and temp fluctuations. The best snow is in the trees at the moment. So come on out and find a pocket that hasn’t been slayed yet. You won’t regret it.   ... [read more]

Sledding in Golden is about to get a major reset as an ‘atmospheric river’ of precipitation is about to plow into our mountains and drop copious amounts of snow! In weather geek language, ‘an intense frontal system, is bringing a subtropical feed of moisture and strong southerly winds will shift to an unstable westerly flow as the front passes…’ In sledder dude language this is translated to, ‘you should pin it to Golden for the weekend and probably plan to call in sick on Monday and Tuesday…’   ... Seems like sledding in Golden is the right thing to do this weekend.   ... [read more]

Avalanche conditions have been high so good terrain choices have been a must. This week coming up should be pretty great sledding. There’s not a lot of new snow in the forecast, but we don’t need it! There’s tons out there right now and it’s a really great time to go sledding. See ya soon.   ... [read more]

Santa is on his way and it looks like all the nice sledders are going to get their snowy wish. We’ve had 20-30 cms of new snow this week and there’s another 47cms of white fluff in the forecast. Things are stacking up nicely in the zones and we’re bracing for a solid swell here through the weekend. It seems like pinning it to Golden for the weekend with your buddies is the move to make, before you get locked down with family.   ...
