Conditions Report: CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY!

What a week it’s been and the party isn’t over! We’ve had over 1 metre of snow and there’s another half metre on the way. Of course heavy accumulations mean avalanche potential and it’s not exactly the easiest thing to perform grooming operations during storms like this but we’re doing our best. Please make note of the information posted below to make sure your experience is all it can be. Oh yeah, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How it’s Been

It’s been a special week in Golden BC. The snow has been unreal! It’s been super deep, even in the most obvious and easy to get to spots. The sun has been cagey but there have been perfect moments when all things aligned for good.

Snow and Weather

We’ve had over a metre of snow in the last week! And there’s over 40cms more in the forecast! It’s been warm in town during the days but the alpine is caked with new snow.

*Please note: GSC grooming operations are responsive to WorkSafe BC protocols for avalanche safety. This means the GSC grooming operations are under the direction of a professional avalanche forecaster, who, at times, applies limits to the terrain that the groomer can pass through and this may affect the grooming product. Please adjust your expectations accordingly. *

Parking: Parking is now at the 21km. Please respect this so the road can fill in.

It’s been deep in Golden and word is it’s even deeper in Silent Pass. It doesn’t look like we will be able to groom until Saturday due to avalanche restrictions. So please plan accordingly.
